‘COME CELEBRATE’ HAS WARM TONES ON ONE SIDE, YET IS SUNSHINY BRIGHT ON THE OTHER. WHICH SIDE WILL YOU CHOOSE?
If you love Indigenous designs and earthy colours, this 1.8m square mat is for you. It can provide a place to gather and have fun outdoors, or perhaps a quiet reading or craft spot indoors.
The ‘Come Celebrate’ mat in the ‘Earth’ colourway was designed by respected Australian Aboriginal artist De Greer Yindimincarlie, of the Wiradjuri Nation in central New South Wales, and her mats designs each have their own story…
“Come and sit with me and tell me a yarn, let me celebrate your life with you. Celebrate all you have, all you’ve experienced, and let’s be grateful for all of it. So, come sit with me and tell me your yarn,” says De.
Like all our recycled outdoor mats, it is made from innovative, tightly woven recycled plastic. Although soft to walk or sit on, it is also hard-wearing and super easy to clean; Simply give it a shake to remove loose dirt or sand, or it can be hosed down for muckier uses! Read more here about how easy our mats are to clean. As one of our more compact mat sizes, ‘Come Celebrate’ is lightweight for folding & carrying, so it’s easily transferable from a quiet reading corner at kindy, to being tucked away in it’s included carry bag for a guided bush picnic!
Being reversible, this design gives you two looks for the price of one, and also extends the life of your mat. Many educators choose these cultural mats in conjunction with our individual seating mats, to facilitate additional learning opportunites, and really take their classroom or early learning centre to the next level! If you’re planning on using this earthy-sunshiny inspired mat for outdoor picnics, why not personalise your mat with an umbrella eyelet and add one of our vintage beach umbrellas to your set up?!
